UNC Holiday Cards

Illustration, visual direction

Every year, UNC produces a Holiday Card, which is sent to key internal and external stakeholders, as well as neighboring colleges. While the card comes from our President’s office, it’s also representative of the university at large.

I’ve created custom illustrations for the 2023 and 2024 holiday seasons so far.

2023 Holiday Card

This year was the first year I worked on the Holiday Card. The President’s family had, in prior years, used a family photo for the front of the card but was looking for something different in 2023. I illustrated a scene reminiscent of our then-current North of the Norm branding campaign, and in reference to our President’s love of hiking mountains. He and Klawz (our mascot) pose on the inside for a Polaroid-inspired picture, after reaching the summit.

2024 Holiday Card

In 2024, one of the University’s key priorities was further progressing towards opening the proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine. This illustration features Klawz giving our president Andy a ‘check-up’, marking the university to be in good health. The inside spread includes an illustration of the proposed college’s building mock-up.
